Wondering why your resume isn’t getting much traction? If you’re a job hopper, the answer is clear. You job hop. Few employers are looking to train new employees with no track record of sticking around.

You’re Too Expensive

The most expensive part of any employee isn’t the salary. It’s the startup costs. Because employers don’t just pay cash to get new employees up to speed on their new jobs. They also pay in human capital.

At many companies, the best employees get recruited to train. So instead of doing things that bring in immediate profit, they’re busy helping other people learn to bring profit in for the company.

If you don’t stick with a company for long, you never become that best employee. As a result, you never reach a point where you help train others. In fact, you don’t even learn how to do your job well enough to really make a difference.
